Faces in the Fire is a collection of essays which provide an inspiring and thoughtful read. One 'fancy' is An Old Maid's Diary, set in 1973 where and old lady sitting by the fire at Christmas starts to dream about her husband / fiance on the Western Front who was killed. He visits in dreams and she wonders of the life they would have had together.
Condition
A good reading copy. The book is in solid shape and perfectly readable but suffers from blotchy foxing to the title page and endpapers, and to a much lesser extent through the text.
