This copy has been signed by Robert Ashe's second wife, Edith to the ffep, dated 1899.
Robert Pickering Ashe was a priest with the Church Missionary Society, and from 1882 to 1888 and 1891 to 1893 he worked at Natete, Rubaga, and Mengo, all in the region of Kampala, the capital of Uganda. This book describes his time in Uganda, mostly on his last few years there up to publication, where he found the country in the throes of religious war. Illustrated with photographs.
Condition
Good condition. The boards are rubbed to the edges, with some wear to the hinges. The main body of text is in good order, with occasional and inoffensive pencil annotation to the margins.
