This is a collection of five books on Archibald McIndoe, the New Zealand surgeon, and the Guinea Pig Club, the association established in 1941 by the patients of McIndoe after he had operated on them with experimental reconstructive plastic surgery after they had suffered burns. They were all RAF or Allied aircrew. One of the books is signed by McIndoe's daughter, Vanora, and 6 members of the Guinea Pig Club (GPC).

McIndoe's Army, The Story of the Guinea Pig Club and its Indomitable Members by Edward Bishop (Grub Street, London, 2001). First thus (it is a rewritten account of The Guinea Pig Club published in 1963). Hardback in dustwrapper, excellent condition. This copy is signed by:

2. Paul R Hart, one of the founder members of the original 28 founder members of the GPC.

3. Derek Martin (d.2014), Wing Commander and another of the founder members. He was treated for extensive injuries after his Sunderland ploughed into the sea in 1941 after searching for a U-boat near Greenland.

5. Derek C Marygold (d.2010), RAF serviceman, member of the GPC, treated by McIndoe after a car crash in which the petrol tank had exploded.

6. Jack Perry, member of GPC, treated after his Halifax bomber crashed in August 1944.

7. Alan Morgan (known as "Fingers Morgan"), a flight engineer who suffered severe frostbite after trying to close a door on his Lancaster that had been blown open mid-sortie, his fingers froze to the fuselage. He was treated by McIndoe and became a member of the GPC.

McIndoe's Army, The Injured Airmen who Faced the World by Peter Williams and Ted Harrison (Pelham Books, 1979). First edition, hardback in dustwrapper. A good copy, the wrapper has been price-clipped, and with light foxing to the page's top edge.
