Printing Details

First edition, 11th impression. Bound in the original green cloth with gilt titling / design to spine and upper board. Top edge gilt, map endpapers by E H Shepard. 19.5 × 12.5cm, 158pp.

A A Milne's first Winnie, this edition published just five years after the first printing. Winnie-the-Pooh may be a bear of very little brain, but thanks to his friends Piglet, Eeyore and, of course, Christopher Robin, he's never far from an adventure. In this story Pooh gets into a tight place, nearly catches a Woozle and heads off on an 'expotition' to the North Pole with the other animals.

Condition

This is a lovely copy. The green cloth is in very good order, with just a little bumping to the corners and spine ends, but with no fading to the green, and the gilt titling and decoration is crisp. The contents are in good clean condition as well. The book is free from inscription and free from any colouring in! The pages are clean and the binding secure. There is a little tanning to the endpapers but this is minor, and the map endpapers are in a good state. All in all, a very well preserved copy of this early edition.
