Published in Ward Lock's Sunshine Series, this edition has 24 colour plates by Margaret Tarrant. When Alice follows the White Rabbit down a rabbit hole, she finds herself in an enchanted world, filled with creatures like the Mad Hatter, the disappearing Cheshire Cat, and the Queen of Hearts. Alice quickly finds out that nothing is as it seems in the wild world of Wonderland...
Margaret Tarrant's full page colour illustrations are superb.
Condition
Really this book is in fair condition only as there is very heaving foxing and browning to the gutter (the part of the binding that runs down the center of an open book). The pages are, on the whole, clean and the book remains in strong readable condition. There is tanning and foxing to the page edges. The dustwrapper is foxed (mostly to the inside) and suffers some edgewear and chipping but this is still an attractive copy. All plates are present. Previous owner's inscription to ffep.
