Printing Details

First Japanese edition. Hardback in glassine wrap and slipcase. 24 × 19cm, 303pp. Japanese text.

There is an inscription in Japanese to the ffep, unknown if this is authorial.

The title translates as 'How to use the Sword: Techniques and Styles' and appears to be an important guide to Japanese swords and tokens, illustrated throughout in black and white with a few plates in colour. The book contains a bibliography from page 298. The only copies I can find are in the British Library and at the University of Cambridge.

Condition

The book itself is in very good condition. The glassine wrap is fair, with some tears to the edges and the slipcase suffers from some surface grubbying, scuffs and marks but has done a good job in protecting the book.
