Here are four books on the Great War poet, Charles Hamilton Sorley, who was killed at the Battle of Loos in October 1915. All books are hardback in dustwrapper and are the first edition.

Each volume bears the ownership mark of Professor Leonard Forster (1913–1997), who was Professor of German at University College London, and Schröder Professor of German at the University of Cambridge but in the Second World War worked as a codebreaker, intelligence assesor and translator at Bletchley Park in Buckinghamshire, centre of Allied code-breaking during the Second World War.

4. Hilda D Spear (editor), The Poems and Collected Letters of Charles Hamilton Sorley (Blackness Press, 1978). First edition, Forster's signature to the ffep.

Condition

All four books are in good plus or better condition. The Hilda Spear has light marking to the wrapper and bumping to the head of the spine. The Jean Moorcroft Wilsons are all in very good order.
