A first French edition of playwright and historian Edouard Fournier's Chronicles and Legends of the Streets of Paris, his history of the old Paris that he saw being demolished by the redevelopment by Haussmann. He writes of churches, hotels, streets, and alleys.

Condition

A reading copy only. The leather is heavily worn, with the front board nearly detached. The pages are tanned with foxing throughout, and there is an old ink stain to the pages' top edge which has seeped down over the title page, and a little to the next few pages. The inner binding is otherwise in good condition, and the book remains in readable condition.
