Printing Details

First edition. Hardback, bound in blue cloth with gilt titling to the spine. 30.5 × 22.5cm, 208pp.

This copy has been signed and dedicated by Richard Church to actress Edith Evans to the half-title, "To Dear Edith, fellow Londoner & kind soul, from Richard Church, October 1966". The book has also been signed by Edith Evans to the dedication page. Edith Evans was, of course, the English actress who delivered the "A Handbag?!" line from Oscar Wilde's play with such aplomb.

A paean to London by Richard Church who walks the streets and describes the wonders of the capital. Illustrated with quite striking black and white illustrations by Imre Hofbauer, the Serbian artist.

Condition

A good copy. The blue cloth has speckled fading, a few surface marks and is a little rubbed but the contents are in good order.
