Printing Details

First edition, first printing. Hardback, bound in blue cloth with silver titling to spine. 19 × 12.5cm, 287pp.

A diverting comedy set in prewar Paris where an idle Englishman runs into a group of eccentric Russian exiles in a nightclub. The novel was the basis for the amusing 1944 film Give Us the Moon starring Margaret Lockwood, Vic Oliver, and 14 year-old Jean Simmons in her debut.

Condition

Good condition, and rarely seen in the first UK edition. The blue cloth is a bit dulled, and lightly faded to the spine. There is some bumping to the corners. The contents are in good clean condition, and with secure binding.
