A set of four volumes from The Sherlock Holmes Collected Edition, published in 1974. Each volume having a new introduction, and with the illustrations to the pastedowns and endpapers rather than within the text. The books are:
1. A Study in Scarlet, introduction by Hugh Greene (145pp),
2. The Sign of Four, introduction by Graham Grene (134pp,
3. The Hound of the Baskervilles, introduction and afterword by John Fowles (196pp),
4. The Valley of Fear, with an introduction by Len Deighton (189pp).
Condition
All four books are in good strong readable condition. There is a little wear to the wrappers but the books are free from inscription and with clean pages and secure binding. One thing to note is the front pastedown and ffep illustrations to Baskervilles have been printed upside down (a binder's error).
