Richard Hillary details his experiences as a fighter pilot in the Second World War, in which he was shot down, leading to months in hospital as part of Archibald McIndoe's 'Guinea Pig Club', undergoing pioneering plastic surgery to rebuild his face and hands.
Condition
The book is in good condition. It lacks the ffep, and with a previous owner's inscription to the half-title. The boards with some fading to the corners and spine ends. The pages are clean, if a little age-toned, and the inner binding is secure. The dustwrapper has heavy wear to the spine, corners and edges but has not been price-clipped and is now within a protective sleeve.
As of September 2026, books remain duty-free. The price of the book incurs no extra US import fees.
