An accessible translation of Vasari's Lives of the Most Excellent Painters, Sculptors, and Architects, including Fra Angelico, Donatello, Felippo Lippi, Botticelli, Da VincI, Titian, and Michelangelo, to name but a few. Written by E L (Emma Louisa) Seeley, the daughter of the publisher. The book is illustrated with sixteen plates, some printed in gilt and colour, others in monotone.

Condition

This copy is in very good condition for age, there is a very little loosening to the inner binding at the start of the book but remaining secure. Frontispiece lacking tissue guard. The title page is stamped "File Copy, Not to be Taken Away" suggesting it was the publisher's copy.
