This is a framed and glazed woodcut print of The Old Pond at New Jerusalem Monastery, Istra, Moscow Oblast, Russia. It is signed in pencil bottom right. The frame is thin metal, and measures 41 × 29cm.

The print shows the distinctive skyline of the Resurrection Cathedral within the monastery walls, featuring its iconic central rotunda tented roof, multiple onion domes, and surrounding fortress walls atop the hill overlooking the pond.

A label in Russian to the rear states that this was produced during the late Soviet period, when the Moscow Art Fund employed thousands of professional artists to produce original landscapes, still lifes, and decorative works for public buildings, regional galleries, and commercial distribution. This piece was originally priced at 3 rubles and 10 kopecks, indicating it was produced as standard commercial art for the general public or state institutions by a local Soviet artist working under the Alisov surname.

Condition

Good condition. There is a bit of a ripple to the paper and some tarnishing to the frame but it remains an attractive piece.
