A collection of Great War letters published anonymously in 1916 describing life on the Western Front, from the miserable, mud-soaked dugouts under artillery barrage and brief respites in French farmhouses, barns, or local billets. the final two letters are from the officer's commanding officer and a private soldier expressing their sympathies that the officer had been killed in action.

Condition

A good copy. The pages are clean and the inner binding secure. The blue cloth is rubbed to the edges and faded to the spine, and there is a little tanning to the endpapers.
