Illustrated with paintings by Korchak Tulku Kun-ga Gyeltsen, based on historic woodblock prints from Tibet, this book chronicles the 12 principal life events of Shakyamuni Buddha according to Mahayana Buddhism. This sacred narrative spans his descent from the celestial realm, his miraculous birth as Prince Siddhartha, his severe ascetic practices, his ultimate enlightenment under the Bodhi tree, and his final departure into Mahaparinirvana.

With 13 colour plates, and further black and white illustrations throughout.

Condition

A good plus copy. There is light wear to the covers where the fibrous handmade paper has rubbed a little. Contents in very good order.
