The first three (of four) titles in T S Eliot's The Four Quartets, with each quartet in the sequence is associated with a specific element, season, and place that anchors its deeper philosophical meditations on time and eternity.
1. Burnt Norton (fourth impression, 1943): Air, autumn/summer, and a Gloucestershire manor. Good condition, but tanned to the cover's edges and some rippling to the handcutpaper.
2. East Coker (fifth impression, 1941): Earth, winter/autumn, and an ancestral Somerset village. Good plus condition, some wear to the edges.
3. The Dry Salvages (second impression, 1941): Water, a timeless element, and rocks off the Massachusetts coast. Good condition, some tanning to the cover's edges and a pencilled name to the front cover.
Condition
Whilst all three are in good readable condition, there is some tanning to the covers and a little creasing.
As of July 2026, books remain duty-free. The price of the book incurs no extra US import fees.
