This is a signed artist's proof etching by Ann Brunskill, featuring a cat on a sofa. The cat sits with its back to the artist, its tail gently hanging down over the front of the sofa. The colours in browns and reds.
The sheet measures 62 × 45cms. The plate mark (image) measures 41 × 29cms. It is unframed. Undated, late 20th century.
Signed by Ann Brunskill lower right, and titled by the artist lower left.
Ann Brunskill (1923–2018), was a printmaker, publisher, painter, and etcher. She studied at the Chelsea School of Art & Design (1959–62). She established her own printing label, The World’s End Press, using a Lion platen press to create her own books. Her artwork consisted of etching, woodcutting, painting and construction. She added more colour to her printing process for books by using woodblocks painted with watercolour and printed in a Japanese method. She also worked with digital images. She has exhibited at the Victoria & Albert Museum and the British Crafts Centre in London. Her work can be found in the V&A, National Library of Australia, Government Art Collection, The British Library, and the Bibliotheque Nationale, Paris.
Condition
The etching is in very good condition, with some light crinkling to the edges and margins. It will be sent in a postal tube.
As of July 2026, books remain duty-free. The price of the book incurs no extra US import fees.
