The autobiography of John Haden Badley (1865–1967), the pioneering English educational reformer best known as the founder and long-serving headmaster of Bedales School. Written roughly a decade before its publication and intended partly as a historical record of a radical shift in British schooling, the book traces Badley’s life from his Victorian upbringing through his decades spent upending traditional English public school education.
