A collection of Irish folklore and fairy tales selected by W B Yeats who also provides the introduction and notes. Including characters such as fairies, pookas, leprechauns and ghosts, Yeats's selection (mostly from the west of Ireland) shares the enchanting folklore that has shaped the cultural landscape of Ireland.

Condition

A poor copy of an increasingly rare first edition. The blue cloth binding is heavily bumped and rubbed with a crease to the front board. The prelims, introduction and first 16 pages of text are detached with some rusting marks from the stapled binding. The binding throughout shows movement and weakens again towards the end of the book. However, it is complete and makes a decent reference copy.
