Full title: Haydn's Dictionary of Dates and Universal Information Relating to All Ages and Nations, Containing the History of the World to the Autumn of 1892
First published in 1841, Joseph Timothy Haydn's Dictionary of Dates was a very successful reference book that went from a modest mid-century handbook into a 1,300-page universal information giant by the turn of the 20th century. Covering political, ecclesiastical, social, scientific, literary, and artistic histories and printed in double columns, this is a nice example of a late Victorian dictionary.
Condition
Good plus condition. The leather is a little rubbed to the joints and corners but remaining securely bound. There is comprehensive spotting to the first few pages but the main body of text is in very good condition for age.
As of July 2026, books remain duty-free. The price of the book incurs no extra US import fees.
