Printing Details
Here are two medieval mysteries by Paul Doherty, both are the first printing and signed to the title page by the author. They are hardback in dustwrapper and in excellent condition.
1. The Straw Men, being the Twelfth of the Sorrowful Mysteries of Brother Athelstan (Crème de la Crime, Sutton, 2012). Set in 14th-century London on the eve of the Peasants' Revolt, the novel follows Brother Athelstan and Sir John Cranston as they investigate a series of gruesome, locked-room murders sparked when two of the Regent's guests are violently assassinated during a performance by his personal acting troupe, the Straw Men.
2. The Midnight Man (Crème de la Crime, Sutton, 2012). Presented as the Physician’s contribution to Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales, this chilling medieval mystery follows Brother Anselm and his novice as they are called to exorcise a haunted London church, only to discover that the terrifying apparitions are a cover for a mortal killer—the masked warlock known as the Midnight Man—whose campaign of locked-church murders and missing local women is tied to the historic 1303 robbery of the Crown Jewels.
