The definitive first catalogue raisonné of the artwork of Impressionist master Berthe Morisot. Originally started during the Great War by Ambroise Vollard, the work was finally completed for publications in 1961. The catalogue documents 845 works across Morisot's career, broken down into her major mediums: 416 oil paintings, 191 pastels, and 238 watercolors (including works executed on fans), with each entry giving provenance history, exhibition records, and physical dimensions. The book is illustrated with 815 black-and-white reproductions. Bataille & Wildenstein's numbering system established in the book is still widely used by cataloguers and auction houses today.
Condition
The book is in very good condition for age, with some tanning and marking to the page edges. The dustwrapper shows wear to the edges.
