Small hardback, this edition in a less common binding of patterned cream cloth with gilt titling to spine and a rather wonderful blindstamped Cheshire Cat, the upper board with stamped decorative border and the White Rabbit as Herald in gilt to central roundel. 15.5 × 10cm, 200pp + Christmas Greetings 91pp) and 2pp ads.

When Alice follows the White Rabbit down a rabbit hole, she finds herself in an enchanted world, filled with creatures like the Mad Hatter, the disappearing Cheshire Cat, and the Queen of Hearts. Alice quickly finds out that nothing is as it seems in the wild world of Wonderland...

Illustrated throughout with John Tenniel's classic artwork.

Condition

A good reading copy. The covers are a bit rubbed and marked, with a very slight splay to the front board. The contents are, however, in very good condition, with clean pages and secure binding. Previous owner's gift inscription from 1940 to the ffep.
