A revised edition of Sir Robert Ball's cosmological and astronomical classic, The Story of the Heavens. The chapters discuss the Sun, the Moon, the planets and the solar system, comets and shooting stars, as well as deeper space and distant suns, double stars, and light, heat, the physical nature of stars etc. This edition has 24 full page plates (most in colour) and over 100 further illustrations within the text.
Condition
Good condition. The blue cloth binding is a little faded to the top edge, joints and spine, and some minor tearing to the head of the spine. Slight loss to the coloured design to the spine but otherwise attractive. The contents in very good condition, all plates present as per the plate index (though one bound a few pages earlier than listed), and the inner binding is secure.
