A single issue from 1947 of Our Time, a left-wing magazine designed to bring art and culture to the common man. The editorial commission included Montagu Slater, Charles Hobday and Arnold Rattebury, and other members of the Salisbury Group (a group of leading Communists, named after the London pub where they met) who were closely associated with the magazine.
This issue has a fine pen and ink design by John Minton on the front cover taken from his work based on the quays and wharves around Southwark and Bankside from late 1946 to early 1947, and has articles on American theatre, the Stratford festival and film trends in Northern Europe, as well as reviews.
