A single issue from 1948 of Our Time, a left-wing magazine designed to bring art and culture to the common man. The editorial commission included Montagu Slater, Charles Hobday and Arnold Rattebury, and other members of the Salisbury Group (a group of leading Communists, named after the London pub where they met) who were closely associated with the magazine.
This issue has a fine pen and ink design by John Minton on the front cover depicting a farming landscape, and has articles on town planning and architecture, Pablo Neruda, the Glasgow Unity Theatre and a story by Marjorie Boulton (who became the Esperanto poet).
