Considered one of the most readable and spiritually influential English versions of the text, Isherwood and Prabhavananda's translation was a landmark collaboration that bridged the gap between ancient Eastern philosophy and 20th-century Western literature, along with Huxley's introduction in which he defines the "Perennial Philosophy. The Bhagavad-Gita is a Sanskrit scripture that forms part of the ancient Indian epic, the Mahabharata. It is structured as a dialogue between the prince Arjuna and Krishna, an avatar of the god Vishnu, on the eve of a massive civil war.
Condition
A good readable copy, though the book lacks the ffep and with a modern handwritten "subject for meditation" to the rear endpaper.
