An elderly Napa winemaker lures a young waitress into marriage by sending a photo of his handsome ranch hand instead of his own. On her wedding night, a disillusioned Amy has a fling with the ranch hand, but she and the old man eventually find genuine love, leading him to forgive her pregnancy and raise the child as his own.

The play was filmed three times: 1928, 1930 and 1940. This edition was published after the first English production at St Martin's Theatre on May 18, 1926 starring Glenn Anders (Joe) and Tallulah Bankhead (Amy).

Condition

Good plus condition. There is some fading and tanning to the spine and covers' edges but the main body of text remains in good order.
