A printed note from the publisher explains that the reader will notice that the ink with which this volume was printed gives off metallic tones when seen in the light. This is because the printer mixed gold powder with the ink, and apparently this was the first time this had been tried. He continues "Jean de Bonnet is, therefore, happy to allow his bibliophile friends to benefit from these first fruits in publishing, which make this an exceptional typographical curiosity".
A collection of verse from the French 15th century poet, Francois Villon. Émile Bernard's woodcut illustrations were first published in 1918.
