Here are four original invitations from Air Vice-Marshal R L R Atcherley during his tenure as Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Pakistan Air Force. They were all sent to Squadron Leader P L Kelly, an RAF officer who had been seconded to the RPAF. They were sent in 1950/1951, and were for dinner, reception, or cocktails at Air House, Frere Street, Karachi.

Richard Llewellyn Roger Atcherley (1904–1970) was a senior RAF officer, having been part of the RAF team that competed for the Schneider Trophy in 1929. During the Second World War he was Officer Commanding No. 219 Squadron, lead the RAF in the Expeditionary Force to Norway in 1940, after which he commanded various stations including No. 211 Group in Libya and then at Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Air Force in preparation for Operation Overlord.

Condition

All four are in good condition, with some finger marking and tanning to the edges. One of them has a taped message to which states "His Excellency the Governor General will arrive at 8pm".
