This copy has a loose card signed to British author Kathleen Farrell by the editor to the title page, "For dearest Kathleen, with the love of the editor, Tom". Kathleen Farrell (1912–1999) was a British novelist. She was a close friend of the editor, Thomas Mabry Cranfill [Tom], and her papers are now held at the University of Texas.

The second of two special issues of the Texas Quarterly, the distinguished literary and scholarly journal published between 1958 and 1978, featuring British culture, writing and art. This volume boasts among its contributors: Stephen Spender, Eudora Welty, Kay Dick (Kathleen Farrell's partner at the time of publication), Ted Hughes, Sylvia Plath, Angus Wilson, and with illustrations by Hans Beacham and Edward Bawden.

Condition

Fair to good condition, but rare with Kathleen Farrell's ownership. The covers are tanned with some wear to the joints and spine ends, there is some corner curling but the whole remains in strong readable condition.
