This copy has been signed to British author Kathleen Farrell by the editor to the title page, "For dearest Kathleen, from her grateful and affectionate friend, Tom". Kathleen Farrell (1912–1999) was a British novelist. She was a close friend of the editor, Thomas Mabry Cranfill [Tom], and her papers are now held at the University of Texas. Farrell also contributed "Colour on My Mouth" to this issue, which was her first appearance in American print.
One of two special issues of the Texas Quarterly, the distinguished literary and scholarly journal published between 1958 and 1978, featuring British culture, writing and art. This volume boasts among its contributors: Henry Green, Ted Hughes, Alan Sillitoe, Philip Larkin, Sylvia Plath, Tom Driberg, Malcolm Bradbury and many more, with illustrations by Hans Beacham, Ronald Searle, and Rowland Emett.
Condition
Fair to good condition, but rare with Kathleen Farrell's ownership. The covers are tanned with some wear to the joints and spine ends, there is some corner curling but the whole remains in strong readable condition.
