Printing Details

Two volumes, full leather binding. Five raised bands and gilt titling and decoration to spines, the boards with central cartouche in early Victorian Gothic style and simple gilt margin. Inner gilt dentelles, and all edges gilt. Each 25.5 × 16.5cm. Vol 1: 686pp, vol 2: pp687–1216.

An attractive early Victorian Bible, volume one containing Genesis to Solomon's Song, and volume two with Isaiah to The Book of Revelations. The text is printed in double columns, with printed marginal notes.

Condition

Very good condition for age. There is some light scuffing and rubbing to all joints and edges and a few small marks to the boards, light but comprehensive scratching to the gilt page edges. The inner binding is secure, the pages clear bar some light age-toning, and the books are free from inscription.
