An early edition of Buchan's 1926 novel, the third of his five Leithen novels. Young Englishwoman Kore Arabin has inherited a remote Greek island, Plakos, from her unscrupulous father, who was reviled by the locals. The superstitious islanders blame Kore for every minor mishap and natural disaster, and they are about to sacrifice her as a witch in the sacred ground called 'The Dancing Floor'. Sir Edward Leithen and his acquaintance Vernon Milburne must save her.
Condition
The book is in good solid shape, though with spotted foxing to the prelims through to the title page and a little to the page edges. Previous owner's gift inscription to the ffep. The dustwrapper remains in very good condition with some very light edgewear and a little marking to the rear panel but it is now within a protective sleeve.
