Printing Details

Second edition. Hardback, bound in the original red cloth with gilt titling to spine. 20.5 × 13.5cm, 348pp

A memoir of Oxford from the 1830s and the early decades of the Victorian age. Tuckwell was an English Anglican clergyman well known on political platforms for his experiments in allotments, his advocacy of land nationalisation, and his enthusiasm for Christian socialism.

Condition

A good reading copy. The cloth spine is faded, there is tanning to the endpapers and a church stamp to the ffep. The main body of text is in good, clean condition, with a little straining to the binding in one or two places but remaining secure.
