Frederick Walter Champion was a trail-blazing conservationist in the early twentieth century, and swapped his gun for a camera to record the natural history of the jungle. In this book, Champion tries to photograph and describe the jungle's inhabitants as living in harmony, far from the more fashionable other writings of man-eaters and blood sports. Champion was a pioneer of camera trap photography, and this book is full of examples of his "tripwire and flashlight" photos.

Condition

A good plus copy. There is light wear and markings to the covers and occasional light blotchy foxing to the pages but on the whole the books remains in strong readable condition.
