Printing Details
This is a photographs album with snaps of a holiday to Suffolk in 1919. The album measures 20 × 15cm, and contains 24 black and white snaps (two to the first and last pages, four to the double spread pages. Titled by hand to the inside cover "August 1919, Suffolk, Ronald V G Lee".
The photos are of: Dunwich (two ladies paddling at the sea), Aldeburgh (a group on the beach), Yoxford (Brook Street, The Kings Head and The Bank, The Kings Head again, Hotel Flaxman on the High Street, two more of the High Street, St Peters, The Three Tuns, The Griffin Inn, antiques shop on the High St, and a final shot of the High Street), Southwold (a humorous group shot, Market Place including the Swan Hotel, the pier, the church, and the stocks), Walberswick (Ruins, the ferry), Aldeburgh (The Moot Hall), Dunwich (ruins), and finally Darsham (a German gun and a Pill Box). There is also a handwritten poem which appears to have been copied out from St Peters Yoxford to the inside rear cover (I think it's a Benjamin Franklin poem).
Condition
Generally good condition, with some wear and tear to the pages but the photos are in good condition for age. The whole album does have an aroma of nicotine / smoke, but this should recede in time.
Books are currently zero-rated for duty (as of January 2026), so the price shown is the price you pay.
