First edition, first printing (this is the complete first issue, subsequent issues had pages 53–56 cancelled due to being too open about their loving courtship) Hardback, bound in the original cloth, simple gilt titling to spine. 19.5 × 12.5cm, 116pp.

The first volume of Helen Thomas's moving autobiography in which she recalls her first meeting with poet Edward Thomas (here called David, Helen calls herself Jenny) to their marriage. A second volume took the story to Edward's final return to the trenches of the Western Front where he was killed in 1917.

Condition

This copy is in good plus condition for age. There is some rubbing to the spine ends, minor bumping to the corners and a little offsetting to the endpapers. Light scattered foxing and a little marking to the first few pages but the main body of text in good, clean condition. Neat previous owner's name to the ffep. The book remaining in a strong readable state.
