A scarcity. This is a uncommon copy of Juillard, the poetry journal founded by British artist and writer Trevor Winkfield. The journal ran from 1968 to 1972, and by the time of this publication, he had become involved with the poets of the New York School. The contents shows an impressive list of late twentieth century American poets, writers and artists: Tony Towle, Lorla Wasmuth, Harry Mathews, Ron Padgett, George Schneeman, Bill Zavatsky, James Schuyler, Larry Fagin, Patrick Hughes, André Pieyre de Mandiargues, Glen Baxter, John Koethe, Kenward Elmslie, Anne Waldman, Iliassa Sequin, Joe Brainard, Charles North, Philippe Soupault, Paul Auster, Michael Brownstein, R L Wilson, John Wheelwright, Carter Ratcliff, and Clark Coolidge. Other names from across the literary and cultural spheres include Guillaume Apollinaire, Gaston Bachelard, Alphonse Allias, Arthur Cravan, René Daumal, Lewis Carroll.
Condition
Good / fair condition. The covers are tanned to the edges and a little creased through being read. The staples are rusting a little but holding well. There is light tanning and light spotted foxing to the margins towards the end of the book but the whole remains in strong readable condition and rarely offered for sale.
