A rare late Victorian issue of the Royal Horticultural Society's Journal. The first half of this issue is a collection of articles and presentations, including:
Reports on a Conference on Asters and Perennial Sunflowers (this includes two delightful fold-out illustrations),
The Utilisation of Railway Embankments by W W Tyler,
Cultivation of the Melon by C Ross,
The Fuschia: Its History and Cultivation by Geo. Fry,
Begonia Conference report etc etc.
The second half of the book are extracts from the proceedings of the Society, including reports form the Scientific, Fruit, Floral, Orchid, and Narcissus Meetings, and then books, seeds, plants etc presented to the Gardens in Chiswick in 1892.
Condition
The binding is a little dull, occasional marking to the cloth Some age-toning to the pages and a small mark to the top of the pages but the inner binding is secure and the books remains in strong readable condition.
