This is a framed and glazed hand-signed photograph of Richard Aldington (1892–1962), the English novelist and Imagist poet, perhaps best known for
Death of a Hero. This photograph dates to 1927 and was taken by Yevonde.
The frame measures 17.5 × 22.5cm, and the photograph is 14.5 × 19.55cm. Richard Aldington has signed "Yours truly Richard" in the lower right quarter, and Yevonde's printed credit is lower left.
Condition
Generally good condition for age. There is some rubbing and knocking to the frame. The image has some light tanning. The frame is backed wood with a label stating it was framed by Mucklow's of Leicester Square.
