"Specially designed to encourage students to act and learn Shakespeare, this pack provides guidance and inspiration to anyone studying or considering performing any of the 37 plays. Robert Pennant Jones takes the reader through the plays, providing suggestions on the many aspects of staging each one, including casting, directing and technical production. Consisting of a source book, two sets of cards and a CD/DVD, the pack is based on three basic precepts: the best way to understand Shakespeare is to act, students should be encouraged to use their imaginations, and there is no substitute for learning the texts by heart."
The cards are housed in two packs, one is "Play Cards", each with facts and figures about the plays, the second is quotation cards.
The book is illustrated by actor Clive Francis, also a highly regarded theatrical caricaturist.
