First edition. Hardback, rebound in full leather (by an amateur by nicely done), with five raised bands and gilt titling to spine, a small cartouche of grapes to the upper board, and with gilt margins to both boards. Decorative endpapers. 26 × 19.5cm, 525pp.
Illustrated with black and white drawings, photographs etc, twelve colour plates and two fold out maps, this painter, historian and writer Eugene Fyot's exploration of Dijon (the title translates as (Dijon, its past evoked by its streets) and is considered one of the finest books on the French city.
Condition
A nice copy. As mentioned, the binding is an amateur but proficient one. There is light spotted foxing to the prelims and some light splash marks to the front endpaper but otherwise the main body of text has secure binding and clean pages.
