This is a colour engraving of Heywood Hardy's The Pick of the Pack, published by The British Art Co Ltd, and copyright with T A & Sons (Thomas Agnew). It is framed and glazed, the frame measuring 51 × 39.5cm, the image measuring 24 × 19cm. Titled beneath the image. Undated but early 20th century.
Heywood Hardy was a famous animal artist, and this one of his most enduring works. It shows Stormer and Grasper, two hounds with the Hertfordshire Hunt.
Condition
Fair to good. The engraving is tanned quite heavily, with a large patch of tanning top right, with other areas of lesser spotted foxing and tanning. However, remounted this would look very good. The frame is a little rubbed and chipped but probably the original frame it was issued in, and the board has been taken off the back.
