Twenty-five maps (complete) housed in a leather case with metal clasp. The case measuring 17 × 23 × 9.5cm, stamped titling to top. Each map measures 16.5 × 10cm when folded, and 66 × 49 cm when unfolded.
This is a complete set of Johnston's three-miles-to-an-inch maps of England and Wales, comprising 25 maps in a leather case which is divided into two segments. The maps are mounted on linen and printed in colour, with card covers. A charming piece of automobilia from the earlier days of motoring.
Condition
The maps: Generally good condition, all maps have some degree of wear and tear, with some tearing to the folds and fraying to the edges. Three maps have tape to the edges for strengthening. Some tanning to sections of some maps. The leather case is rubbed and the lid has become neatly detached. The clasp still works and the strap is present, though the leather is rather dry.
