A novel of a young couple, Jenny and Andy, whose free spirited love makes those around them look stiff and formal. The author was the daughter of master calligrapher Edward Johnston (he designed Johnston, a sans-serif typeface that was used throughout the London Underground). She later married the graphic designer Macdonald Gill.
