Loosely inserted is a typed letter signed from Winston Churchill's grandson (and Randolph's son), also named Winston S Churchill. It was sent from his office at the House of Commons and is dated June 1993 giving permission to anthologist and military historian Anne Powell to quote from a letter of his grandfather's.

Randolph Churchill's two-volume official biography of his father (without the companion volumes), before the mantle was taken over by renowned historian Martin Gilbert.

Condition

Both books are in good strong condition. There is some light wear to the wrappers and some lifting to the laminate of the wrappers over the joints. The books themselves are in good condition, with light foxing to the pages' fore-edge.
