This book traces the literary ancestry of Ulysses and discusses how Joyce triangulated himself with Homer and Shakespeare. Richard Ellmann demonstrates that Joyce, far from being apolitical, was revolutionary, working in his own oblique fashion to subvert existing institutions.
Condition
The book itself is in good plus condition, with a little dusting to the pages' top edge and some minor corner creasing. The dustwrapper suffers some loss along the top edge but is now within a protective sleeve.
