Full title: The Politics of Aristotle, Translated into English with Introduction, Marginal Analysis, Essays, Notes and Indices (Volume I and Volume II, Part I)
Benjamin Jowett's translation of Aristotle's seminal works in political philosophy, exploring the fundamental principles of governance, citizenship, and the ideal state, and the analysis of various forms of government, including democracy, oligarchy, and aristocracy, examining their strengths, weaknesses, and potential for corruption. Volume one contains the introduction and translation, volume two, the notes.
Condition
Good condition. Two previous owner's names, firstly J Seton Deuchar of Saxingham Rectory, and secondly David Castillejo of King's, Cambridge in 1945, the latter has made notable pencil annotation to the first 50 or so pages of the translation. The brown cloth is in good condition, the inner binding secure but a little pulled I places. The pages are clean (barring, of course, the pencil annotations).
